Austrian engineer Gaston Glock founded his company in 1963. It started out with just three employees making consumer goods out of wood, metal, and polymer.
He set out to design a sidearm in the early 1980s. Back then, the firearms world looked different — heavy steel pistols, fewer rounds, complicated safeties.
Glock flipped that script.
By 1982, the Glock 17 revolutionized law enforcement across Europe and soon the U.S. Today, Glocks are trusted by military, police, and millions of civilians.
